20 Make NCHA Super Stakes Classic Non Pro Finals

Horses from across the country make up the field for the 2024 National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Super Stakes Classic Non Pro finals in Fort Worth, Texas.

The clean-slate finals, scheduled for Thursday, April 4, includes 20 horses hailing from top breeding programs and royal bloodlines. Leading the way into the finals is Shooga Rey Leonard and Missy Jean Ethridge, who marked the high score of 225 in the semifinals on Wednesday, April 3. Other high marks from the Open semifinals were Ripp Tide and Tried To Tell Ya with 222s and three horses who marked a 219: Smoothe Talkin, Vennomous and Konna.

The stallion with the most progeny in this year’s field is Stevie Rey Von, who had five make the Non Pro Classic finals. The lineup also includes other sires with multiple offspring that made the finals. Hottish sired three finalists, Metallic Rebel sired four and Metallic Cat sired two.

Per usual, the marepower is strong. This year’s field includes one offspring of EquiStat Elite $1 Million Dam Lil Rattler—Vennomous—as well as My Little Denver, a mare by EquiStat Elite $1 Million Dam My Little Abra.
